Coopération Sud-Sud pour le développement agricole: étude prospective de la souche brésilienne de l’Oreochromis niloticus dans le développement de la pisciculture ivoirienne

Abstract: One of the problems of Ivorian fish farming is the difficult access of farmers to quality fry. To reduce this constraint, Côte d'Ivoire has obtained, under a bilateral agreement with Brazil, Brazilian fry from Tilapia to increase its fish production. As the project is still in its experimental phase, the study questions the future of these new biological products in Ivorian aquaculture. The working method used is based on a documentary research carried out in libraries and documentation centres as well as a field survey carried out in the fish farming services and fish farms selected on the basis of relatively objective criteria. The tools used are mainly those of foresight, in particular statistical studies, discourse analysis, retrospective analysis, stakeholder analysis, territorial audit and stakeholder perception analysis. Using Micmac software combined with variables selected in the context of the study, determining factors were identified in order to design scenarios. Thus, three scenarios were developed. For scenario 1, there is abundant fish in the market basket; stagnation of aquaculture production and consumer indifference for scenario 2; and recession of aquaculture activities and farm abandonment for scenario 3.
