Climate change and its impact on biodiversity: A global perspective

Author(s): Dr. Vinod Kumar Ojha

Abstract: Climate change is one of the most pressing environmental challenges of the 21st century, affecting ecosystems and biodiversity at multiple scales. From shifting species distributions and altered migration patterns to the increased frequency of extreme weather events, the consequences of global warming are profound. This review explores the impacts of climate change on biodiversity, focusing on habitat loss, species extinction, ecosystem disruption, and the role of human activity. It also examines mitigation and adaptation strategies that are crucial for the conservation of biodiversity in the face of a rapidly changing climate. The urgency to understand and address these impacts has never been greater as the world navigates toward a sustainable future.
