Author(s): Prashant Dutt and Rohit Verma
Abstract: India, with its diverse climatic conditions, faces significant challenges in traditional agriculture, particularly concerning vegetable production. Protected environment structures, such as greenhouses, polyhouses, and net houses, offer a viable solution to these challenges by creating controlled environments conducive to vegetable growth. This review paper explores the prospects, benefits, challenges, and future directions of protected environment structures in Indian agriculture, focusing on their impact on vegetable production, economic viability, sustainability, and technological advancements.
