Abstract: In this paper attempt has been made to explain net increase in population decadal variation absolute and percentage in the population of the, The Kosi Basin from 1901 to 2001. This paper also seeks to examine the level of urbanization jural population growth rate.
The growth of population in the Kosi Basin from 1901 to 2001. It has been observed that from 1901 to 1911 the growth was 21.78 percent the decline was due to the emergence of epidemics like cholera plague and several offer kinds of diseases like malaria, Kala-a-zar and Influenza.
Since 1921 up to 2001 the growth rate has been considerably declined du to the adoption of family planning. In this regard it has been observed that in the year that in the year 1921 the decadal growth rate was 50-57 percent and in 1931 it was 97-78 percent which comes down to 27-79 percent in the year of 2001 it is a great achievement on the pert of family planning programmers in state of Bihar in order to control the growth of population.
