Abstract: From prehistoric times to the present, agriculture has been the most significant human endeavor. In addition to providing food for the populace, agriculture also shapes a country's economic structure and security, particularly in India. Approximately one-sixth of the world's population lives in India, which boasts fertile river basins. In other words, agriculture plays a significant role in India's political, economic, social, and cultural endeavors, both directly and indirectly. As a result, agricultural efficiency and productivity are crucial for directing the expansion of the Indian economy and for determining the social structure of the country. The performance of different crop production in a chosen region, with an emphasis on the efficacy of agricultural output with regard to the available unit of land resources, is known as agricultural efficiency. To determine agricultural efficiency, the Parbhani district has been chosen. The purpose of this study is to determine the Parbhani district's agricultural production and efficiency index, as well as variations by tahsil and shifting patterns in 2020-21. The district's fluctuating agricultural efficiency rate is the primary focus of the study. As a result, determining the area's agricultural efficiency is crucial for understanding and comparing the state of agriculture with the corresponding level of economic growth.
