Geographical analysis of Gondur Lake, Dhule (Maharashtra) by using RS and GIS Techniques

Abstract: Gondur Lake Dhule Maharashtra is the important water bodies that naturally form in Gondur Village of Dhule District Maharashtra State, due to the topography of Gondur Village natural basin are form near village and it filled by rainwater which locally called Gondur Lake. Dhule is situated in the Khandesh region, which forms the northwest corner of the Deccan Plateau. The district is bordered by Madhya Pradesh to the north, Gujarat to the west, Nashik district to the south, and Jalgaon district to the east. The region is characterized by a diverse topography, including hills, plains, and rivers. The geology of Dhule district is primarily dominated by Deccan Trap Basalt, which covers about 93% of the land. The remaining 7% consists of Tapi alluvium. The soils in Dhule are mainly black soils (also known as regur soil), which are typical in basaltic regions. The Geographic Coordinates of Gondur Lake, Gondur, Dhule Maharashtra is 20.8800° N and 74.9995° E. Gondur Lake Water body is very useful for surrounding area agriculture and percolation of water of lake recharges the groundwater table of the surrounding area.
